「全台十大魅力海域」之冠的外木山海域，昨日有3000名「泳士」報名，為挑戰刷新紀錄，不畏烈陽曝曬，穿戴好泳具「噗通！」一聲，跳進冰涼海水中，逐浪前行，其中，家住新北的徐姓阿嬤今年第10次挑戰外木山海泳，浮板上還記錄輝煌的戰績。
連續舉辦逾10年外木山長泳活動，昨日上午7時許登場，吸引全國來自15個縣市、3000位民眾報名挑戰，組成288隊，其中有12位身心障礙朋友、21位外國人，最年長的81歲、最小的10歲，超過70歲者則有47人。
昨上午艷陽高照，民眾仍不畏高溫、烈日，活動還未開始就趕抵現場，迫不及待換上潛水衣、蛙鏡、蛙鞋、浮板等泳具，照順序分梯次，從外木山海興游泳池「噗通」跳下水後，沿著碧藍的海面向前，奮力游到終點大武崙沙灘，總計全長3200公尺。
往年長泳水母傷人頻傳，因此主辦單位暖暖高中賽前派員下海清理水母，並加強宣導塗抹之凡士林，避免被水母螫傷，就是為了防堵水母再次「攪局」毀了參賽者好心情。
